The Kasanag Daughters Foundation was founded in 1999. In visaya language 'Kasanag' means the first ray of sun, which gets through the darkness of the night.
The history of the house goes back to the times when the sacred heart missionary preached during retreats. The house is a public institution that helps girls.
During the confessions and conversations, the missionary got to know the girls' painful stories. There were many times when he was lost for words when trying to comfort them. Some time later the missionary found out that one of the girls had to leave the institution. She couldn't return to her family home. They didn't except the fact that the girl testified against her dad. The father was arrested for abusing her sexualy. Her mother knew that he was quilty but was worried about her family, as the husband was the only breadwinner. Out of fear- she tesfified in favour of him.

The aim of KDF is to lead to the inner healing of the wards, to forgiveness and coming back to the family if it is possible and safe.

Kasanag Dauhgters Foundation can be supported in this way:

• we encourage to undertake 'Hearts adoption' which means regular supporting of the House and its wards.

Every Donor (we ask for a donation at least 30 zlotys monthly) will get a picture of ' the daughter' and correspondance from her.

'Hearts adoption' for KDF is collective. Annual cost of one girl's livelihood is 14.500 zlotys.
