Our aid for Catholics in the Gaza Strip

As Christians, we are obliged to love – in all conditions and circumstances. Therefore, like missionary carollers, we went to help the children of Gaza City.

The music charity project “Viva Papa Leone – help for children from the Gaza Strip” has come to an end. According to the project's initiator, the Missions of the Diocese of Tarnów, a total of $36,000, or approximately PLN 130,000, will be sent to the Holy Family Parish in Gaza through the Dicastery for Promoting Integral Human Development. This amount includes 70,000 PLN donated by our Secretariat for Foreign Missions of the Priests of the Sacred Heart. The papal almoner, Cardinal Konrad Krajewski, will manage the funds collected on site.

Christmas is not only a commemoration of the historical birth of Jesus Christ, but above all a commemoration of the victory of solidarity over indifference. Everything must be done to ensure that humanitarian aid reaches its destination along with this money. We are not thinking of a specific project, as we did last year, but we know that this money will be put to good use. We have assurances from the Papal Almoner and the Dicastery for Promoting Integral Human Development that this money will quickly reach the Gaza Strip, said Fr. Maksymilian Lelito, director of the Missionary Department of the Diocesan Curia in Tarnów.

We would like to express our sincere gratitude to all donors who have contributed to helping Catholics in Gaza.
