Thanks to you, three more wells have been built in Congo! Here is the text of the thank-you note sent by the Dehonian priests.
Dear Donors,
On behalf of all the beneficiaries, we want to thank you for your generous donation to our communities and our Ibambi Parish. Your gift is truly appreciated as it eases the pain of the lack of potable water we have endured over the years.
At the outset, I would like to thank you from the bottom of my heart for your special concern for the Congo Province from missionary times to the present day. Poland has always shown a special attachment to the Congo Province through the missionaries who worked assiduously and sometimes shed their blood. Now that the missionary era is almost over, the same attachment continues through the projects and financial support (Mass intentions) that Congo now receives. Words cannot express our gratitude, but may the Lord repay you a hundredfold and bless all who, through you, help us carry out our evangelization mission.
All three well construction projects in our Ibambi, Babonde and Wittebols House communities have been completed in accordance with our original estimates. However, it is worth noting a few changes and additions that were beyond our control.
First, we did not drill at Babonde because there was an emergency at Collège Saint Jean. This school is one of the province's flagship projects and has more than 1,200 students. Each time, the city's water company cuts off the water supply, leaving the entire population of the school without water. Often, for sanitary purposes, students are forced to draw water from a source 100 meters away, thus disrupting lessons.
Secondly, the same well has caused us difficulties because of the rocky terrain on which the school stands. Several times the company doing the work had difficulty finding the right water source. They had to drill three times before they found the right place. As a result, we had to add money so they could complete the work. Since it is the children who will use this weel, we also had to build a good fountain so that users could drink without difficulty. Fortunately, we had money left over from the well in Ibambi, which cost less than the others.
It is said that water is life. And to give someone water is to give them life.Thank you for this wonderful gesture. These three wells will now allow us to have water at home and eliminate all kinds of water-borne diseases.
We are truly grateful for your generosity and continued support. We hope you will continue to support us as we aim to expand this initiative to other communities, schools and parishes.
We remember about you in prayer +
