For many years, the "Studia od Serca dla Naddniestrza" (Studies from the Heart for Transnistria) project has supported the education of ambitious young people with Polish roots from the not so distant Moldova. Weronika, a student of dental prosthetics, writes about the importance of this assistance in a letter to our donors.
After several years of fruitful cooperation with missionary Father Marcin Janus SCJ, we have decided to close the "Studia od Serca dla Naddniestrza" (Studies from the Heart for Transnistria) project in its current form. However, this does not mean that we are ending our cooperation and ceasing to help the young people from Father Marcin's parish. We are already working on how to adapt our activities to the needs of the young and ambitious parishioners from Transnistria. Weronika, a student of dental prosthetics, writes about how much this assistance means in a letter to our donors. We would like to thank everyone who has contributed to this wonderful cause, that is educating ambitious young people with Polish roots from the village of Sloboda-Rașcov in Transnistria.
Hello from Transnistria!
My name is Weronika and I come from the town of Sloboda-Rășcov. Last year, I graduated from secondary school, passed my final exams with good results and was accepted onto a course that had long fascinated me and was, to some extent, my dream. I am studying dental prosthetics (dental faculty). My studies last only two years and are on a contract basis.
I would like to thank you for the help I have received many times through our parish priest, Father Marcin Janus SCJ. Your support is a great help to me and my parents, who do not have a steady and stable income. My mother only works part-time, so she is unable to cover the full cost of my contract. Thanks to your help, I can explore new horizons and fulfil my dream.
I study in Tiraspol and live in a social dormitory for students run by Father Piotr, a Dehonian. Every day I fall more and more in love with this specialisation. We study a large amount of material and explore interesting and important medical topics. We started practical classes almost from the very first days of study, which further increases my enthusiasm and interest.
Over time, I realised that a dental technician is an extremely versatile specialist who performs many interesting tasks, such as working with plaster, 3D modelling, processing materials, covering tooth discoloration, and many others. I am extremely grateful to you for helping me pursue an education in a field that truly fascinates me.
